STL plays Father Christmas for Bristol family
STL Heating and Energy played Father Christmas this month when it stepped in to ensure a Bristol family suffering hardship had a warm and happy Christmas.
The family were living without heating this winter, with the children all in bed by 5pm just to keep warm, when one of STL’s sales reps called to talk to them about a new boiler.
Unfortunately they didn’t meet the requirements for financial help but on hearing that the father couldn’t work after losing an eye during a mugging and his partner was the sole carer for the children, one of whom is autistic, leaving the family really struggling financially, the kind-hearted sales rep used his contacts to help them.
He secured the donation of a boiler and the STL team arranged to fit the boiler and also give the family advice on how to be more energy efficient and access the best energy tariff for them to help cut their annual heating bills.
And the team got into the Christmas spirit not only dressing up in seasonal outfits to fit the boiler, but also delivering gifts for the family. The company has been a drop-off point for the nationwide charity Mission Christmas which ensures children living in poverty all receive Christmas gifts.
An STL rep said: “Our sales rep was really touched by the family who, through no fault of their own, were living in very difficult circumstances. It’s hard to think of a family living without heating at this time of year. We were delighted to help out and it was a real pleasure to not only be able to sort the heating out for them but also to give them some presents to ensure they had a Christmas to remember for all the right reasons.”
